Hello everyone!

It's time for another Waffle Flower Challenge!

Here's my card for March challenge:

The technique of the month for this March is Watercolor.

And the inspiration photo and sketch...

From the inspiration photo, instead of a basket of flowers, I created a bouquet of flowers. Lilac, yellow and white are the main colors. And I followed the sketch of the month as well. 

I used watercolor smooshing technique to create the look of watercolor for the top and bottom of my card, with no watercolor paints but just a little ink and water. 

For the leaves, I blended Green ink across with sponge dauber and added water droplets onto it. I picked up the water with paper towel to have some bleeding effect. 

For the flowers and ribbon, I embossed with black embossing powder and colored them with distress ink and water brush.

The result is cool, right? Let's join me to have some fun!

Waffle Flower Challenge Design Team: LOVE

Hello everyone!

Today is the fifteenth day of the first month in the lunisolar year in the lunar calendar marking the last day of the lunar New Year celebration. Chinese called this day as Yuan Xiao （元宵）. It is also known as Lantern Festival. In the early days, young people were chaperoned in the streets in hopes of finding love. Matchmakers acted busily in hopes of pairing couples. The brightest lanterns were symbolic of good luck and hope. Therefore, it is also known as Chinese Valentine's Day.

Now, I am going to share with you a Valentine's card that I made for Waffle Flower February Challenge to celebrate this February, Month of Love!

The technique of the month for this February is Inlaid Die Cutting.

And the inspiration photo and sketch...

This card was inspired by the inspiration photo. The colors - Pink, Gold and a little touch of blue. When I saw the bed and the pillows - suddenly feathers pop up from my mind. It relates to dream and hope.

And since it is the month of Love, I should create a card about love!

Do you notice that there's no sentiment on the card? I just let the picture says the word!

I love die cutting but you will surprise that I never play with inlaid die cutting. After playing, then only I know it can produce some truly incredible results. However, this technique requires a bit of planning.

I started with die cutting the Doily Circle from coordinating cardstock and patterned papers. “Puzzled” and replaced the cut pieces with the cardstock piece cut earlier, using tape on the back side of the Doily Circle to keep the inlaid piece in place. To inlaid the Doily Circle to the heart shaped frame,  I cut out the inner heart shaped frame, overlay the Doily Circle that I puzzled earlier to the frame, die cut them with the same heart shaped frame lit.  Repeat the steps of inlaid die cutting for the remaining outer heart shaped frame and Mini Twine Bow. Then, I cut Feathers in a separate white card base, and inlay the shimmering gold Feathers into the opening. Lastly, I “overlay” (cut and inlaid) the whole heart shaped frame that I completed earlier to the card based.

The result is cool, right? Let's join me to have some fun!

Waffle Flower Challenge Design Team: Happy Birthday

Hello everyone!

Time for Waffle Flower first challenge for 2016! 

Today, I am going to share with you a birthday card that I made for Waffle Flower January Challenge. A card for my bestie!

The technique of the month for this January is Stenciling.

And the inspiration photo and sketch...

I created two of my very own one-of-a-kind stencils using Rock My World Die Set and Good Stuff Die Set. I die cut the rocks all over a 41/2"x 6" cardstock randomly and I called it Rock Tee's World. I used the Rock Tee's World stencil, a few shades of purple inks and color shine mist to create the patterned rock background for my birthday card. 

Then, I used the stencil created by using Good Stuff Die Set to add a little touch for my calendar.

Waffle Flower Challenge Design Team: Merry Christmas

Hello everyone!

Christmas is around the corner!

Today, I am going to share with you a Christmas card that I made for Waffle Flower December Challenge.

The technique of the month for this December is Stamp Layering.

And the inspiration photo and sketch...

I applied three different Stamp Layering techniques for this Christmas card – layering using two step stamping set, one layered stamping and layering of grey pigment ink with colorful dye ink. 

First, I used Good Stuff Stamp Set to stamp the outlines of the bottle and the solid body and lid of the bottle. Then, I stamped randomly variety shape of stars and snowflakes using different colored ink on top of each other. For second and third, I layered a white tag on top of my white card base and stamped on the layers at the same time. After finished all the stamping, I layered a grey colored tag in between. 

Regarding the stamping, I stamped the lined patterns from Tribal Bear Stamp set with grey pigment ink and stamped over the background with colorful dye inks and watercolor strokes.

Card: Happy Birthday! Big Smile!

Hello everyone!

Today I want to show you the birthday card that I made for my special friend who I mentioned in my previous post.

This sweet lady loves Turquoise. Erm.. it actually one of my favorite colors too! So, this card gonna be in Turquoise. I matched it with pink.

In this week's Just Add Ink Challenge, Tina is asking us to Just add.....C. What's my choice? My elements of C are Celebration, Confetti Collection, Cone party hat and Chipboard stickers.

I'm thrilled that the receiver loved both the cards I gave to her so much! I'm on moon now. Hope you all like them too!

Card: Merry Merry Merry Merry

A special friend of mine coming over to my place. I wanted to create a Christmas card for her as part of her birthday gift.

I came across Fusion Card Challenge and I was inspired by the inspiration photo - the colors, curtains, Christmas tree and ornaments.  

Then, I came across Just Add Ink Challenge #291 - Just Add C. My elements of "C" are Christmas Celebration, Christmas tree, Check patterned, die Cut and Curls. That's how I came out with this card!

Waffle Flower Challenge Design Team: You Are The Best SISTER One Could Feather Have

Hello Everyone!

Hope everything is fine!

Today, I am going to share with you the card I made for Waffle Flower November Challenge.

Before that, let's see what the technique of the month is.

And the inspiration photo.... 

The hanging leaves made me think of the dream catcher. Hence, I created a card about feathers. 

Here’s my take:

I followed the color combo of the inspiration photo. I used both normal and reverse masking technique for this card. I die cut several feathers of varying styles and sizes to use as masks, as well as the left over for reverse masking. I stamped some feathers and blended over them on white paper with inks using sponge dauber.

I stamped the “YOU ARE THE BEST ONE COULD FEATHER HAVE” horizontally and used the reverse masking technique to blend the colors over the sentiment with inks. I added a die cut mini ribbon and embellished the card with sequins.
