迷人的Crabtree & Evelyn 2014聖诞礼品 ( Crabtree & Evelyn Typewriter Project )

哇！好大的一个红色大信封！原来是Crabtree & Evelyn 2014聖诞礼品套裝系列的册子。今年的主题是 “Seasonal Spectacular -  探索世界各地最珍貴的植物宝”。还没打开信封之前，我心里正想着  ：“我该不会再买了吧！因为才刚在生日月份买了不少产品。”结果呢？ 一打开信封，一下就被那绘有鲜明独特的节庆图案吸引了。今年的礼盒实在太华丽漂亮，有种种不同的款式，较多铁罐装。加上贵宾有特优惠，你说呢？

不曾为了贵宾优惠而排队购买的我，破例第一次一大清早到Gurney Plaza 的Crabtree & Evelyn与我的好友敏一起排队购买。我还带着Baby Hang 去排队。庆幸的是我还有机会排前面二十名顾客，获得Early Bird 的免费赠送礼品。我要谢谢我亲爱的老公载我去广场，还帮忙照顾Baby Hang。Thank You!

这圣诞配套里有沐浴露、护肤霜、手部修护霜及香水。我超喜欢这套礼品的箱子。这箱子的外层是布制的，而它的柄是皮制的。它那绿与白的配色、深浅花与叶子的图案实在是太漂亮迷人。它的浅浅淡淡的绿色，给人带来一种清新的感觉。

2）Herritage Biscuit Barrel & Spiced Tea

大的铁桶是圣诞饼干礼盒，里面装着五种不同口味的饼干。这些五种味道的饼都很好吃。至于小的铁桶是茶。我会选这两个罐装是因为它们那优雅的古建筑-商品陈列店的图画，从图画里的窗口还可以看到Crabtree & Evelyn 2014聖诞礼品及其他精致的食品呢！还有，它们那漂亮蓝色，非常独特与迷人，深深吸引了我，真的难以抗拒！

3）Perfect Pair - Somerset Meadow, Pear & Pink Magnolia and Jojoba Oil

我非常非常喜欢这些盒子。一见钟情！可能他们把它的盒子设计成书籍的样子吧！这盒子是厚纸皮制成的。它的盖不是开开的，而是用磁铁‘吸’住的！用完沐浴露及护肤霜后，盒子还可以用来装东西，非常实用。本来我只买一盒，回家想了又想；第二天我又去多买两盒。我太爱这Perfect Pair了！

Indulge with Crabtree & Evelyn Fine Foods ( Crabtree & Evelyn Typewriter Project )

Sitting in the garden surrounded with plants and flowers, listening to birds chirping, sipping a cup of tea with a relax mind is just an indulgence for a mom with kids that are ever so active. Once a while, I will pamper myself to have a ‘me time’ while my boys are still in bed or taking their nap by having an English breakfast or afternoon tea in the garden. This is the time when my Crabtree & Evelyn precious fine food collection will be served.

Not only does Crabtree & Evelyn have a wide range of luxurious toiletries, they have gourmet foods too, like cookies and biscuits, fruits jam and tea. You will see them under the Fine Food corner. Frankly speaking, initially when I first stepped into the shop, I dare not ask or even walk close to Fine Food corner. Why? It was because of the word ‘FINE’. Fine Dining, ooohhh then Fine Foods must be referring to expensive stuffs. Furthermore, all the products are so…..nicely presented. They will definitely mark up the price for that. But then, surprisingly they were actually at an affordable price, not expensive as what I thought of. From there onwards, every time I shop at Crabtree & Evelyn, I will definitely patronize  the Fine Food corner. All the beautiful tins and boxes, bottles and jars, and some special barrels seemed ‘waving’ and ‘whispering’ to me: “Come and touch me! Bring me home! Taste me!” Sometimes I just can’t resist and I will bring back one or two.

Celebrate the holiday season with our banquet of fine foods, made with love and care in England. Inspired by the very best of festive British fare, these flavourful goodies use only the finest natural ingredients and traditional cooking methods for wonderfully intense flavour. Beautifully hand-drawn illustrations have been transformed into charming wrapping for gifts that will brighten any winter pantry.

Let’s have a mini tour to this corner. They have cookies & biscuits, preserves and tea. Of course, they will have festive food for some special occasions or holidays like Christmas and so forth. They will come out some special flavors with special packaging available for own consumption, collections or as gifts.

Cookies & Biscuits

Crabtree & Evelyn has a wide range of cookies and biscuits. They have Traditional Shortbread Biscuits, White Chocolate and Raspberry Biscuits, Strawberries and Cream Biscuits, All Butter Almonds & Vanilla, All Butter Chocolate Chip, All Butter Lemon, All Butter Orange, Double Chocolate Chip, Lemon & White Chocolate Biscuits, Honey and Oat Biscuits. Triple Chocolate Chunk Biscuits is the new flavor.

At present they have Dark Chocolate Chunk & Hazelnut Biscuits, Christmas Pudding Biscuits and Gingerbread men for Christmas. They also have limited edition biscuits – All Butter Tarocco Orange Biscuits.

I have not tasted all of them, especially those new arrivals and special editions. My friend Jess recommended  me the Strawberries and Cream Biscuits and it became my favorite one. It is made in Great Britain. 

Oh my, these biscuits are a great excuse to pop the kettle on. The biscuits are crumbly and chunky. Hmm… the strawberry flavor is so aromatic. And I get to bite the cubed strawberries which blended so well with the smooth cream. Each bite just melts in my mouth. 

Nonetheless, I find the biscuits a little bit sweet but it is just nice if we eat the biscuits and pair it with a cuppa Crabtree & Evelyn’s tea. They are perfectly matched.  The tea will offset the sweetness but it will not shadow the flavor of the biscuits.

Tea

Crabtree & Evelyn has two types of tea – black tea and flavor tea.

Afternoon Tea, Earl Grey Tea and English Breakfast Tea are the black teas. Their black teas are smooth and mild compare to other brands. Basically, these teas goes well with any flavors of biscuits and cookies. For scented tea, they have Green Tea Scented with Jasmine, Organic Camomile Tea and Organic Peppermint Tea. Now, they have new flavors – Mint Green Tea and Blackberry Green Tea. I have not tasted the new ones but I heard that the response to the Blackberry Green Tea was great.

Normally, I will take Green Tea Scented with Jasmine for breakfast and tea break; At night, I will end my day with Organic Camomile Tea. 

If you ask what’s my favorite tea? My answer will be Organic Camomile Tea. It is the chill-out drink for me. The calming, warming and comforting blend of camomile leaves helps to sooth and relaxed my senses after a busy day. Sometimes, I will add in a slice of lemon or honey to spice up my cup of tea. Organic Camomile Tea is produced in Germany.

Preserves

Crabtree & Evelyn has preserves that we used to call Jam. They have Blueberry Preserve, Breakfast Marmalade,Raspberry Preserve, Strawberry Preserve, Citron Curd, Tarocco Orange Marmalade, Strawberry and Rose Water Preserve and Wild Blueberry and Lavender Preserve. I love their preserves as they really add in fresh fruits. I get to bite into chunks of fruits and the taste just burst in my mouth. That’s why we called it Preserves. Pair them with toasted rustic bread or buttery crumpets. Superb! For Strawberry Preserve, it can be even served with a dollop of cream on a Devonshire scone. I love to toast the bread, spread a layer of butter, then followed by the preserves…wow! Such a heavenly bite! Seriously delicious!

My favorite will be the Wild Blueberry and Lavender Preserve. I love the combination of the flavors. With the first bite, you will taste the wild blueberry, then slowly and gently the light Lavender taste builds up in your mouth. Yummy! 

Actually it is slightly sweet but when served with a cup of tea from the Crabtree & Evelyn’s tea range, it will be a splendid blend!

Unforgettable Scent of Love: Way Back into You, Crabtree & Evelyn ( Typewriter Project )

Crabtree &Evelyn, a brand name that I loved since I was young. The name and logo itself, conjures a lovely image in my mind, of the country side, British ladies sitting elegantly in their garden enjoying a cuppa tea surrounded by the lovely scent emanating from the fresh blooms, herbs and fruits.   

When Crabtree & Evelyn arrived  in my country, I was very attracted by their packaging and display. Oh!! Everything that goes with it. The moment I entered the store, its like being transported to an enchanted land. However, I couldn't afford to own these products as I was a student back then. To me, C&E products were luxurious toiletries, gourmet foods and gifts for those who enjoy a sophisticated lifestyle. I would just looked through the window and admire C&E products every time I passed by the store and wished that one day I would have the chance to own these products and enjoy the extraordinary pleasure.

My 1^st extraordinary pleasurable experience with Crabtree & Evelyn

Still in my university life, my bestie Min brought me a Crabtree & Evelyn travelling set from London as a gift. What a surprise! Oh dear! I was thrilled beyond words. I felt so pampered. That was the very first Crabtree & Evelyn products I ever had. It was a Rosewater Mini Popper which comprises of :

•        Soap 40g (Made in Great Britain),
•        Shower & Bath Gel 50ml (Made in Switzerland),
•       Body Lotion 50ml (Made in Great Britain) and 
•        Petit Sachet (Made in China).

Can you imagine how great the gift was? Thank Ewe, Min! And I kept the packaging till today. The photo showed the packaging that I have kept for more than 15 years. (I can’t find the bottle of the Shower & Bath Gel, else it would be nice.)

My 2^nd extraordinary pleasurable experience with Crabtree & Evelyn

Before leaving the company, I received a farewell gift from my senior. It was a set of Crabtree & Evelyn LA SOURCE toiletries. I was so touched and absolutely delighted by the gift.

10 years later

I finally stepped into Crabtree & Evelyn boutique to shop for gifts for my bestie and a special friend who loved C&E products so much. Of course, this time I bought some products home to indulge and pamper myself too.

I’ve tried a few products, not much, but it is hard to choose only 3 favorite products. Well, I choose...

·         Rosewater triple milled soap

·         La Source®Intensive Conditioning Foot Mask

·         Avocado Olive & Basil Skin Revitalising Body Lotion

I won’t talk about the Crabtree & Evelyn Hand Therapies (that’s Crabtree & Evelyn speak for hand creams). I know, it’s their famous product, especially La Source® Hand Therapy with one sold every 30 seconds in the world! I just wanted to do something different.

Rosewater triple milled soap

The story of 

Rosewater

The rose is the symbol of love for good reason. Timeless, alluring and majestic, its heady scent and skin-beautifying properties have been celebrated for centuries. In fact, the simple fusion of rose petal fragrance and pure water is a classic English beauty tonic.

I opened up the Rosewater triple milled soap. I smelled it and suddenly my eyes were filled with unshed tears. The scent made me think of my bestie and the sweet and bitter times we had been through. Although the scent was a little different compared to the classic Rosewater, the fragrance still evokes the elegant essence of the hundred petal rose, a coveted scent through the centuries that is as captivating now as ever.

“We use a traditional soap making technique to craft our Rosewater Triple-Milled Soap. We blend in beautiful rosewater fragrance, shea and cocoa butters and wheat germ, rose hip and evening primrose oils. So your skin gets gentle cleansing, softening moisture and a light, refreshing scent.” - Crabtree & Evelyn

Rosewater triple milled soap comes in a set of three and 3.0 oz each. It was formulated without mineral oil, parabens, phthalates or propylene glycol and suited to all skin types.

I love the scent of Rosewater triple milled soap. It is not too thick but just nice. It is triple-milled for lasting fragrance, it lightly scents my skin. It softens my skin after wash too. Furthermore, this soap lasts longer than regular soap.

La Source®Intensive Conditioning Foot Mask

I smelled the mask. The fragrant is so familiar and it makes me think of two of my seniors in previous company who very helpful and took good care of me. I missed them so much. The scent is just a crisp and clean reminiscent of fresh sea air.

La Source® Intensive Conditioning Foot Mask is an award-winning product. It is free from mineral oil, parabens or propylene glycol. It is easy to use. Smooth it on, wear the plastic booties provided, let it dry, then rinse it off and it works to moisturize, soften and recondition in just 20 minutes.

I love the scent of fresh sea air. Imagine I am having my food spa at home by the sea…

I like the results of this creamy mask. My feet are visibly fairer; they are noticeably softer like baby soft and smoother after use. The mask will not eradicate callouses, of course but they do soften them a little.

I love the cool and minty sensation. Oh, the great sensation does last long! I washed away the mask and I wear socks after that. I can still feel the minty sensation. This mask   just “Re-boot” my feet. I like how it relaxes my tired feet.

There are some points that needed to be improve. There’s no a spatula, brush or gloves provided for application. I just use my hands to apply.  The 5 pairs of plastic booties included in the box are really long rectangular plastic bags. It would be nice if they had drawstring mouths. It is hard to walk as the bags will slowly recede when I walk and the mask dries easily. So what I did was wearing socks over my bagged feed.

Avocado Olive & Basil Skin Revitalising Body Lotion

I definitely know that avocado, olive and basil are great and delicious to serve in salad and sandwich; and now they are being bottled by Crabtree & Evelyn. I wonder what the outcome is.

I would say that’s the perfect combination for a body lotion. I just fell in love with the wonderful green herbal scent. I applied it at night after shower and it leaves just the most beautiful smell. When I woke up the next morning, it was subtle but it's still there.

I have not applied any lotion on my body before as I hate the greasy feeling after using lotion. This is my first attempt to use a body lotion. Avocado Olive & Basil Skin Revitalising Body Lotion totally wins my heart. The texture of the body lotion is smooth and light,  even though the consistency of the lotion is thick, it is not heavy and it absorbs quickly into the skin once it is applied. It is truly  non-greasy. I just hate greasy lotion. Other than that, this lotion is very hydrating, leaving a thin shiny film  on the surface of my skin to lock in the moisture making my skin really soft and nourished.
