How I get inspired?
First, the layout. I used the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #83, a new sketch from Gayatri Murali.
However, I don't want to stick with the original banner, flower and leaves. Hmm... What could I replace them with? I took out one of my favorite Maggie Holmes's Styleboard Vellum Shapes. The moment I lifted up the packaging, a clock and few butterflies vellum shapes dropped out onto my table. Oh yes! Clock + Butterflies = TIME FLIES!
Time really flies! Life is too short to be anything but happy! We must enjoy life! Appreciate and love our life! Then, I decided to make a card for myself to remind myself to be happy whenever I feel sad. Wake up every morning, seeing this card, with the thought that 'Oh today is another happy day!' That's how this card being created.
For color wise, I used the color combination from Mei Li Paperie's July Colour Challenge. The colors are so nice!
I stamped a stroke of pink paint using Watercolor Wonder from Papertrey Ink with pink ink to replace the banner. It was like a flying color in the air. I layered a clear tag 'Oh Happy Day!' on top of the pink stroke as the sentiment of the card. Instead of flowers and leaves, I added a clock as main focus, butterflies and loves (appreciate, enjoy and love our life) to the card.
Well, our life full with good and bad times! The pearls and sequins represent all the up and down, tears and laughter in our life. No matter how, all these just make our life full with colors!
Here's the closer look of the card.
Do you notice that there is a very light wording printed on the clock vellum? Yes? No? Actually 2 words. Wonderful Life. We need to live a wonderful life and we will. We capture our life. We snap pictures for our memory. That's why I stamped a camera there. I had fun creating this card!
Oh what a happy day!
