Waffle Flower Challenge Design Team: Merry Christmas

Hello everyone!

Christmas is around the corner!

Today, I am going to share with you a Christmas card that I made for Waffle Flower December Challenge.

The technique of the month for this December is Stamp Layering.

And the inspiration photo and sketch...

I applied three different Stamp Layering techniques for this Christmas card – layering using two step stamping set, one layered stamping and layering of grey pigment ink with colorful dye ink.

First, I used Good Stuff Stamp Set to stamp the outlines of the bottle and the solid body and lid of the bottle. Then, I stamped randomly variety shape of stars and snowflakes using different colored ink on top of each other. For second and third, I layered a white tag on top of my white card base and stamped on the layers at the same time. After finished all the stamping, I layered a grey colored tag in between.

Regarding the stamping, I stamped the lined patterns from Tribal Bear Stamp set with grey pigment ink and stamped over the background with colorful dye inks and watercolor strokes.

Now is your turn to have some fun!

Make something new (card, layout, tag, planner spread, etc…) using the stamp layering technique (a must). The use of photo and/or sketch is optional. You will need to use at least one Waffle Flower product to be eligible to win. You could be the next winner!

The challenge ends on 25th December 2015.

Card: Happy Birthday! Big Smile!

Hello everyone!

Today I want to show you the birthday card that I made for my special friend who I mentioned in my previous post.

This sweet lady loves Turquoise. Erm.. it actually one of my favorite colors too! So, this card gonna be in Turquoise. I matched it with pink.

In this week's Just Add Ink Challenge, Tina is asking us to Just add.....C. What's my choice? My elements of C are Celebration, Confetti Collection, Cone party hat and Chipboard stickers.

I'm thrilled that the receiver loved both the cards I gave to her so much! I'm on moon now. Hope you all like them too!

A special friend of mine coming over to my place. I wanted to create a Christmas card for her as part of her birthday gift.

I came across Fusion Card Challenge and I was inspired by the inspiration photo - the colors, curtains, Christmas tree and ornaments.

Then, I came across Just Add Ink Challenge #291 - Just Add C. My elements of "C" are Christmas Celebration, Christmas tree, Check patterned, die Cut and Curls. That's how I came out with this card!

Waffle Flower Challenge Design Team: You Are The Best SISTER One Could Feather Have

Hello Everyone!

Hope everything is fine!

Today, I am going to share with you the card I made for Waffle Flower November Challenge.

Before that, let's see what the technique of the month is.

And the inspiration photo....

The hanging leaves made me think of the dream catcher. Hence, I created a card about feathers.

Here’s my take:

I followed the color combo of the inspiration photo. I used both normal and reverse masking technique for this card. I die cut several feathers of varying styles and sizes to use as masks, as well as the left over for reverse masking. I stamped some feathers and blended over them on white paper with inks using sponge dauber.

I stamped the “YOU ARE THE BEST ONE COULD FEATHER HAVE” horizontally and used the reverse masking technique to blend the colors over the sentiment with inks. I added a die cut mini ribbon and embellished the card with sequins.

Fun? Let’s join us! Who knows? You could be the next winner!

Make something new (card, layout, tag, planner spread, etc…) using the masking technique (a must). The use of photo and/or sketch is optional. You will need to use at least one Waffle Flower product to be eligible to win.

The challenge ends on 25th November 2015.

Planner Pages: Happy Planner Week 44 (Halloween Color Themed - Sparkle & Shine Challenge Sixteen)

It’s been a while I didn’t play along with Spackle & Shine Challenge. Time flies! It’s already Sparkle & Shine Challenge Sixteen!

Look at the sparkly pumpkins!!!

Guess what I had created for this challenge?
Not a card but a planner spread!

When I first saw the inspiration photo, the colors of the pumpkins caught my eyes! The glittery purple, orange and black definitely relates to Halloween! However, I don’t like Halloween! You will hardly see Halloween themed stuffs in my collection.

I took out all my purple, orange and black decorative tapes that I have, as well as stickers or die cuts with pumpkins related. I mixed and matched the decorative tapes. Adhered the stickers and die cuts.

I used my one and only one most scary stamp, image of the spider web, from Studio L2E, to stamp along the columns of 31st October and scattered around the top of the pages.

Lastly, I added sequins to sprinkle and sparkle up my spread! The very first time I used sequins for my planner! What a good try!

Hope you enjoy reading my post!

Waffle Flower Challenge Design Team: You Are My Cup of Tea

Hello Everyone!

Today is an exciting day for me! This is my very FIRST contribution for the Waffle Flower Challenge! And my first experience to be part of the designer team! Hooray! Yay! Yay!

"Hey! York Tee, take it easy! You better come back from the moon!"
Opps! I'm overexcited! Hehe...

Tada….

Let's take a look at the inspiration photo and the sketch that inspired me!

It is beautiful, isn't it?
Look at the crochet cushion covers, blanket, coasters... They are so lovely! I wish I can play with yarn but it is totally a 'neigh' for me. A card? Definitely a ‘Yes’!

Oh and the technique of this month is Embossing! I used both dry and heat embossing for my card.

First, I embossed the background with the doily lace embossing folder, blend colors to the embossed doily using sponge dauber with Waffle Flower Fall and Winter Blend Inkpad (Ice Blue, Cardinal, Pear and Custard).

For the circle laid on top of the die-cut doily circle, I made my own background by heat embossing the flowers with white embossing powder and distressing colors over the piece using sponge dauber.

Here’s the fun part. I made that one-of-a-kind tea cup with two different stamps, a tea cup stamp and 100% LOVE. Cool? I heat embossed them in black, cut it out and adhere to the circle base using foam squares to create some dimensions. This applied to the tea bag as well.

For the sentiment, I heat embossed it in black. I worked my name into it! Coffee, Tea or me (Tee)? Haha…

Lastly, I added sequins to sparkle up my card!

Now, it is your turn to have fun! Make something new (card, layout, tag, planner spread, etc…) using the featured technique. You could be the next winner!

The use of photo and/or sketch is optional. You will need to use at least one Waffle Flower product to be eligible to win.

The challenge ends on 25th October 2015.

Tea Bags Holder: Thank You Tea-cher! You're Tea-rrific

Teacher’s Day was just around the corner. Little Ze wanted to give his teachers some appreciation gifts. I told him that we would only be able to give out the gifts after our trip to KL. Oh no! Such a short time! I really scratched my head as I did not prepare for it at all. I had to think of something that we had on hand and something that we could complete in very short time before we depart to KL.

All of a sudden, I saw ‘TEA’ from the word ‘teacher’. Yes! I could prepare something related to tea! I had lots of tea bags on hand! I had some ready-made cookies as well! Hmm… "Let’s give all the teachers a wonderful tea break!!!" And I could add in a message "You're tea-rrific" to the project!

Here’s what I came out with:

Litlle Ze helped to pack the tea bags.

Little Ze helped to die cut the tea bag holders.

Little Ze wrote all the names of his teachers by himself. And he got all their names right without my help!

He wrote his own name at the back of the holder.

Some preparation in progress...

So, what's inside the holder?

So, how I come out with this tea bags holder?

I was thinking on how to wrap or present the tea bags and cookie. If store in a tumbler, there would be another cost and most importantly, it was impossible for me to search for identical tumblers in such a short time. On the other hand, I didn't want to just packed the tea bags and cookie in a plastic bag and tie with ribbon...Nah! Nah! Nah!

What I had much in my room? Card stocks! Papers! There and then, I thought of a tea bags holder using the card stocks available. I recalled that I had Sizzix notebook holder die which I never use, which I grabbed from Smidapaper closing down sales. With the die, I could cut out some beautiful and identical holders in very short period of time. I added twine to hold the tea bags and cookie. This was how I converted the notebook holder into a tea bags holder. Then, I added washi tape to hold the holder instead of ribbon.

The design was inspired by the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #123. I added a little twist on the sketch.

The color combo was inspired by Always Playing with Paper Challenge #35 {Inspiration Challenge}

Then, I embossed partial of the holder with Birds and Swirls embossing folder when I came across CAS.ology WEEK 147: WEDDING. I could have a wedding elegance feel and wedding elements in a Thank You card, right? It was not necessary to be a wedding card.

Lastly, the colors, theme, and sweet treats of PAPER SWEETIES INSPIRATION CHALLENGE #31 – ‘CELEBRATE MOM’ inspired me to add a little touch to the holder with pink and yellow butterflies.

Little Ze was so happy and satisfied to see outcome of the gifts. He was so excited to distribute them to his teachers. All the teachers were happy to receive his special appreciation gift too!

Mission accomplished!
