Hi! Today I’m going to share with you my layout for Mei Li Paperie’s
August Inspired by... Challenge. I love this month’s inspiration piece.
Sad to hear that Robin Williams passed away. Robin
Williams made art that changed my generation. His humor, his storytelling, and his
thousand and one different expressions are what I watched growing up. Not just
any celebrity can bring about epic feelings of childhood. Robin Williams is one
of the few artists in our time that has that gift. Ok, back to the inspiration piece.
It shown a fun photo of him that has a lot of feeling. How I get inspired?
First, the B&W photo and the wooden floor caught my
eyes. I straight away thought of my Pink Paislee’s Hello Sunshine – Happy Days
and Simple Stories’Vintage Bliss Gray Wood/Butterfly Stiches patterned papers.
Secondly, the humor of Robin Williams.
To me, black is dark, sorrow and sad color. By the way, this was my first attempt
to create a black base layout. Well, since Robin Williams brought us so much laughters, it was great to turn this black to a bright and
happy layout. Laughter is the best medicine. I chose Pink Paislee’s Hello Sunshine –
Happy Days as my base. Do you notice the wordings at the bottom of the paper?
Does it sounds familiar to you? Yes, it was part of the lyrics in a song called “You Are My
Sunshine”.
I came across Creative Embellishments’ August Challenge.
I was being inspired by the picture and for the twist to use ‘You Are My Sunshine, You Make Me Happy’ as my title. I chose a
photo of my little Sunshine - Little Ze is smiling and saying ‘cheese!’. He really brightens up my day. Then, I added
a stripe of wordings from Hello Sunshine patterned paper … Let’s sing!
You are my sunshine,
my only sunshine
You make me happy
when skies are grey
You'll never know
dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my
sunshine away
I used the sketch from Elle’s studio Sketch Thursday
21/08/2014.
Oh, Robin Williams holding some little flowers and some on the floor in the first inspiration piece. I included some little colorful flowers in my layout as well. Can you spotted them?
I used two transparent tags in this layout.
I used two transparent tags in this layout.
I adhered mini alphabets to the transparent tags and layered
it on top of a square piece which I stamped a camera onto it. You said
Cheese!!!
That’s all for today!
Happy Crafting!
