Layout: Hello Cutie

This is another layout that I created during my stay at my in law's place.

Same as the layout in previous post, it was inspired by Jot Magazine's March Mood Board and Elle's Studio Sketch Thursday 03.05.2015.

This time I sprinkled the paint instead of spraying. I hand-stitched the grids.

Layout: Hello Mr Punk

At the very last minute, we changed our plan to go back to my Hubby Jay's hometown earlier. Without much time, I packed my craft bag in a rush. Because of that, I left out my photo to scrap at home! :(

Here's what I created during my stay at my in law's place (of course I added the photo after I reached home):

How I get inspired?

First, the color combo. They are from Jot Magazine's March Mood Board. I got to know about Jot Magazine through Instagram and I browsed through their website. There and then, I came across their March Mood Board... chosen by Jot Girl, Anna Allan.

Aw... I straight away fall in love with it. Such an inspiring and gorgeous piece! Isn't it?

The color of the mood board reminds me the paper collection of Elle's Studio - Cameron. This was the first thing that I packed into my craft bag.

For the sketch, I was inspired by Elle's Studio Sketch Thursday 03.05.2015.

Layout: YUM Let's Eat!

What is so yummy?

Raw broccoli!!

Huh?! Yes, my Little Hang just can't wait for us to cook the broccoli! He grabbed and munched. Really #tamchiak ! So, I made an layout about that.

This layout was actually based on Elle's Studio Thursday Sketch 02.19.2015. The sketch was so inspired and beautiful!

I used Elle's Studio products except for the washi tapes and twines. And it was quite fun to try out diagonal shapes in the layout, as well as hand-stitched even though it was just a straight line.

Layout: You Are My Sunshine, You Make Me Happy!

Hi! Today I’m going to share with you my layout for Mei Li Paperie’s August Inspired by... Challenge. I love this month’s inspiration piece.

Sad to hear that Robin Williams passed away. Robin Williams made art that changed my generation. His humor, his storytelling, and his thousand and one different expressions are what I watched growing up. Not just any celebrity can bring about epic feelings of childhood. Robin Williams is one of the few artists in our time that has that gift. Ok, back to the inspiration piece. It shown a fun photo of him that has a lot of feeling. How I get inspired?

First, the B&W photo and the wooden floor caught my eyes. I straight away thought of my Pink Paislee’s Hello Sunshine – Happy Days and Simple Stories’Vintage Bliss Gray Wood/Butterfly Stiches patterned papers. Secondly, the humor of Robin Williams.

To me, black is dark, sorrow and sad color. By the way, this was my first attempt to create a black base layout. Well, since Robin Williams brought us so much laughters, it was great to turn this black to a bright and happy layout. Laughter is the best medicine. I chose Pink Paislee’s Hello Sunshine – Happy Days as my base. Do you notice the wordings at the bottom of the paper? Does it sounds familiar to you? Yes, it was part of the lyrics in a song called “You Are My Sunshine”.

I came across Creative Embellishments’ August Challenge.

I was being inspired by the picture and for the twist to use ‘You Are My Sunshine, You Make Me Happy’ as my title. I chose a photo of my little Sunshine - Little Ze is smiling and saying ‘cheese!’.  He really brightens up my day. Then, I added a stripe of wordings from Hello Sunshine patterned paper … Let’s sing!

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are grey
You'll never know dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away

I used the sketch from Elle’s studio Sketch Thursday 21/08/2014.

Oh, Robin Williams holding some little flowers and some on the floor in the first inspiration piece. I included some little colorful flowers in my layout as well. Can you spotted them?

I used two transparent tags in this layout.

I adhered mini alphabets to the transparent tags and layered it on top of a square piece which I stamped a camera onto it. You said Cheese!!!

That’s all for today!

Layout: So Fun! You Make Me Smile!

I came across Elle's Studio Sketch Thursday dated 14.08.14. The sketch was perfect to record any and all summer memories.  It was so inspiring.

Tada...

My layout using the sketch! I created this layout within 20 - 30 minutes time while my Baby Hang taking an afternoon nap. This was my 10th layout. It was a fun and cheerful layout. These photos captured the fun moments of Baby Hang playing with his brother in the garden. I used red and yellow to bring out the mood. For the sunburst background, I used the combination of washi tape stamps and actual washi tapes to make horizontal lines. Can you differentiate between the stamped and the real washi tapes?

Those in the rectangle boxes are the stamped washi tapes ;)

I was having fun creating this layout, using the stuffs from one of my happy mails, my newly owned products from Elle's Studio!

The more excited news was my layout being randomly selected as the winner of that week for the sketch. Yippee!
